Welcome to Globber (“the App”), operated by sebastiencs, established in France.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use the App.

2. Personal Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

  • Email address
  • Password (securely hashed)
  • Profile info (name, age, gender, bio)
  • Profile photo

2.2 Location Data

We collect:

  • Precise GPS location to show nearby activities & challenges
  • Approximate distance between users (“XX km away”)

We never show users’ precise locations to other users.

2.3 Photos & Media

  • Profile photos
  • Challenge validation photos

2.4 User-Generated Content

  • Messages
  • Challenge participation
  • Activity descriptions
  • Any content you submit

2.5 Device & Log Data

  • IP address
  • Device model
  • OS version
  • Crash logs (via Sentry)
  • App usage analytics (via PostHog)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use data to:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Display challenges near you
  • Show distances between users
  • Enable messaging and interactions
  • Improve the App through analytics
  • Process subscriptions and payments

We do not submit personal user data to any LLM.
LLMs are used only to generate or translate challenge text.

5. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Data is stored using:

  • Supabase (PostgreSQL, Auth, Storage)
  • Encryption at rest and in transit
  • Access controls and auditing

6. Data Sharing With Third Parties

6.1 Service Providers

We share data only with essential providers:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, storage
  • PostHog — analytics
  • RevenueCat — subscriptions & payments
  • Sentry — crash reporting
  • Expo / OneSignal — push notifications (if enabled)
  • Mapbox / Google Maps — maps & geolocation

These services act on our behalf and do not sell your data.

We may share data if required to:

  • Comply with the law
  • Prevent fraud
  • Protect the rights and safety of users

7. International Data Transfers

Some providers process data outside the EU.
We rely on:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
  • Adequacy decisions
  • Other safeguards

8. Data Retention

  • Account data: kept until account deletion
  • Photos: deleted upon account deletion
  • Analytics logs: kept 3–12 months
  • Messages: deleted or anonymized when account is deleted

9. User Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccuracies
  • Delete your data
  • Restrict processing
  • Object to processing

10. Account Deletion

You can delete your account through the in-app "Delete Account" button.

Upon deletion:

  • Profile is removed
  • Photos are deleted
  • Messages and content are deleted or anonymized
  • Auth credentials are permanently removed

Backups may retain technical copies for a limited period.

11. Cookies & Tracking

Globber uses no browser cookies.
Some anonymous analytics events are collected inside the app via PostHog.

12. Children’s Privacy

Globber is not intended for users under 18 years old.
If you believe a minor has registered, contact us to remove their data.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy.
If significant changes occur, we will notify users within the App.
